Francisco “Pancho” Molina
Francisco Molina Born in Concepcion, Chile where he formed a band that would transform the music scene of the country and become an icon of the 90’s rock movement in Latin America- "LOS TRES"
With LOS TRES Francisco had the opportunity to travel all over the American Continent as well as many European countries. The project lasted 15 years, ending in 2000 and earning Francisco recognition all over Latin America.
After LOS TRES Francisco started working in a new jazz project by the name of LOS TITULARES, juggling the new project with recordings and performances in Chile. Molina created his own independent music label “Colon Records” in which he worked as a producer and manager. He also helped develop the jazz movement in Chile with his creation of the festival “ Alternativa/Jazz”.
In 2004 he decided to take some time off from his work in his native country and entered Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts where on May 2007 he earned a diploma in Professional Music.
Currently Francisco is working as an accompanist for the dance department of the Boston Conservatory and cooperating with different bands that go from R&B, Blues, Swing and World Music to Jazz and Rock and Roll.
Molina has shared the stage with world renown artists such as Inti-Illimani, Illapu, Los Jaivas, Los Prisioneros, La Ley, Aterciopelados, Cafetacuba, Angel Parra, Nick Cave, James Brown, Fito Paez, Charly Garcia, Billy Cobhan, Danilo Perez and many others. With over 20 recordings that range from rock and jazz to world music, versatility is a good description of Francisco’s approach to music.
